Angelique Mawson and Barrett Wilson are the owners of Awesome Sports and between them have over 35 years of ice hockey experience as players, goalies, coaches, managing teams and as officials on and off the ice as well.   

Angelique has played ice hockey for just over 36 years, representing the NZ Ice Fernz from 1998 - 2009 and also Head Coach  of the U18 Women's team for 5 years from 2016-2020.  Even playing professionally in Turkey for 2 seasons back in 2008/2009.   Angelique also played and coached in the NZWIHL for over 10 years. Angelique also is seen from time to time in the referee stripes, and currently co-ordinates and coaches in the local Dunedin Women's league. Angelique continues to play in the field after starting 35 years ago and currently plays in the local DIHL league, masters hockey as well as various other female tournament. 

Barrett is an active NZIHL official and is the referee-in chief in Dunedin as well as supervises the development of youth officials in the National junior program. Barrett also has represented Thunder as a goalie in the past, for over 4 seasons and also as a coach for the Thunder Women's team for several seasons. Barrett is currently playing in goal and the field in the local DIHL leagues and is one of our club goalie coaches working with both senior and junior goalies locally, and as well as playing also officiates and supervises officials locally.
